Liquid end hydroxyl polybutadiene rubber (HTPB) is a liquid rubber with hydroxyl functional group at the end of the molecular chain of polybutadiene, which is colorless or light yellow transparent liquid at room temperature.
HTPB and chain extender, polyisocyanate cross-linking agent in the reaction at room temperature or high temperature can generate three-dimensional network structure of the solidified material, the solidified material has excellent mechanical properties, good transparency, especially has excellent hydrolysis resistance, acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance, low temperature resistance and excellent electrical insulation, good adhesion to non-polar and low polar materials, excellent air tightness. The moisture transmittance is very low.
HTPB has a wide range of applications. For a long time, it is mainly used in the manufacture of adhesives for solid propellants. In recent years, it has been gradually promoted for the production of civil cast-type polyurethane elasteers, RIM polyurethane products and CASE polyurethane elastic materials. Due to the excellent electrical properties of HTPB, water resistance, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability, it is also used for the production of complex shape insulating materials by the casting method.

The main application fields of HTPB include pouring tires, rubber and plastic floor, plastic runway and complex shaped rubber products, shoe materials, special foam plastics, special coatings, adhesives, potting materials, electrical insulating packaging materials, waterproof and anti-corrosion materials, underwater sealing materials, wear-resistant transport belt and other rubber modification and epoxy resin modification and other uses.
