Water-based adhesives have various kinds and different properties, which can adapt to the trend of environmental protection. The important properties of water-based adhesive are: solid content (non-volatile mass percentage), viscosity, emulsifier or surfactant total agent dosage, surface tension, pH value, particle size and distribution, film forming temperature, mechanical stability, etc.Compared with solvent-based adhesives, water-based adhesives have the following characteristics：

1.No solvent or containing a small amount of solvent, harmless to people and the environment, in line with environmental protection requirements.

2.The distribution of solid content is wide, ranging from 20% to 50%.

3.Water-based adhesives have good brushability, spraying requires less pumping pressure than solvent-based adhesives, and water-based adhesives can be cleaned with water before drying.

However, water-based adhesives also have some disadvantages.

1.Because the presence of water makes the fabric shrink or the paper warp or wrinkle, it will also cause corrosion and rust problems in steel application and storage facilities.

2.In most cases, water-based adhesives must be prevented from freezing during shipment and storage, which may lead to container damage or product deterioration.

3.The evaporation of water is slow, so that the glue curing is slow or the drying equipment.The coating performance of water-based adhesives is poor, and the wettability of composite substrates is not good, resulting in low adhesion.

Although there is some slow drying of water-based adhesives and there is a gap between adhesive and solvent based adhesives, we believe that through continuous research and efforts, we can make water-based products not only an environmental protection product, but also a high-performance product.
